Southwest Hunter (Catskill Social Series)
October 15, 2020
[October 10 update: 2 spots remaining]
This hike to Southwest Hunter Mountain will include a round trip of 7 miles to this 3755 foot summit located to the southwest of nearby Hunter Mountain. Southwest Hunter is one of the peaks required to earn a Catskill 3500 patch. Although often considered a bushwhack and having a summit canister where we will sign the log book, this is primarily a trail hike with some herdpath. The total elevation gain for this hike is 1850 feet.
You must be in adequate shape for a hike of this length. Please wear sturdy hiking shoes or boots and carry light layers of clothing that can be added or subtracted depending on the temperatures. See our recommended gear list for day hikes for advice on what to bring: Recommended Gear
