This guided hike to the summit of Thomas Cole Mountain is suitable for novice and intermediate hikers learning to snowshoe. The hike will be 6 miles with 2150 feet of total elevation gain. At 3953 feet above sea level, Thomas Cole Mountain is the 4th highest peak in the Catskills. It is named for the American painter who is considered to be the founder of the art movement known as the “Hudson River School”.
