Use the contact form if you wish to be added to the wait list in case slots open up \n\n\n\nThe Catskill Social Series takes it up a notch with this challenging all-day winter hike including lots of steep ledges and multiple scrambles.  At 4184 feet in elevation\, Slide Mountain is the highest peak in the Catskills.  Wittenberg and Cornell Mountains are a few hundred feet shorter\, but famous for their tough scrambles as well as great views.  This is a through-hike that will require car shuttle between the starting and ending points.  The hike will cover 10 miles with 2700 feet of elevation gain.  Crampons and snowshoes are required for this hike.  \n\n\n\nThis hike is being presented in conjunction with the Adirondack Mountain Club and the Catskill 3500 Club. After a relatively easy hike to the Balsam Lake Mountain summit (and fire tower) we’ll hike the Finger Lakes Trail both ways to the 3465 foot summit of Millbrook Ridge and back. With most of the hike above 3000 feet elevation\, winter conditions will likely be present. Snowshoes and spikes will be required. Bright Clothing\, especially blaze orange is recommended. This is a 12.8 mile hike with nearly 2700 feet of elevation gain and we will hike at a moderate to quick pace. \n\n\n\nThis hike is being presented in conjunction with the Adirondack Mountain Club and the Catskill 3500 Club.
