SUMMARY:Slide Mountain - Social Series
DESCRIPTION:Our November Catskill social series installment features a user-friendly hike to Slide Mountain\, the highest peak in the Catskill Mountains at 4184 feet. This hike is suitable for fit beginners. We won’t know until mid-November if it will be a delightful late fall hike or if we will need winter gear\, but be prepared for the possibility that we might need to wear spikes to maintain adequate traction. The total hike will be 6 miles with approximately 1800 feet of total ascent.  Please wear weather-appropriate hiking boots and bring layers of clothing that can be added or subtracted depending on the temperatures. \nThe Slide Mountain hike is being presented in conjunction with the Catskill 3500 Club and the Adirondack Mountain Club. You do not need to be a member of these two great organizations\, but we do encourage you to consider joining one or both of them. \nSee our recommended gear list for day hikes for advice on what to bring:  Recommended Gear \nContact Ed to reserve your spot on the Slide Mountain hike.
