SUMMARY:Wittenberg and Cornell Mountains
DESCRIPTION:January 9 update: This hike is now full.  Use the contact information below if you would like to be notified in case of cancellations. \n\n\n\nOur January social series hike is to Wittenberg and Cornell Mountains in the Catskills. These two summits feature steep climbing and scrambling to some of the most classic Catskill views.  Expect January cold\, snow and ice and plenty of scrambling on this route.  The infamous “Cornell Crack” is always challenging in winter conditions and we’ll negotiate it in both directions. You must have snowshoes and traction devices/crampons for this hike.  The total hike length is about 9 miles with over 3000 feet of total ascent.This hike is for strong hikers in good shape. \n\n\n\nThis hike is being presented in conjunction with the Adirondack Mountain Club and the Catskill 3500 Club. We strongly encourage you to consider joining these worthy organizations. \n\n\n\nContact Ed to reserve your spot on this challenging hike.
