The inaugural hike in the 2022 edition of the Catskill social series will be on January 6 featuring a winter challenge on the Devil’s Path to Twin Mountain. This hike will cover 6 miles and 1850 feet of total elevation gain on a route that is not the most difficult hike to a Devil’s Path summit, but nonetheless has its challenges. Despite that, Twin boasts views that are among the best to be found.
It’s too soon to say if the trail will feature good snowshoeing conditions or lots of ice (or both), so you must be fully prepared with your winter kit (snowshoes and crampons). We’ll visit both of the Twin summits, including the beautiful rolling boreal walk between them, and great views near both summits.
This hike is being presented in conjunction with the Catskill 3500 Club and the Adirondack Mountain Club. We strongly encourage you to consider joining one or both of these two great organizations. Check the links above for more information.
Contact Ed to reserve your spot on the Twin Mountain hike. Please include a sentence or two about your recent hiking experience.
Hopefully you can join. If not, stay tuned for announcement of the rest of our 2022 Catskill Social Series schedule and check out our other great Catskill offerings:
