Join us this Saturday, June 8 for a free guided hike on Long Island’s scenic north shore. The route will includes the well known and spectacular Long Island Sound bluffs and some lesser known but beautiful sections of the Sunken Meadow State Park. We’ll see scenic vistas and late spring blooms of mountain laurel and viburnum. This mostly gentle hike will cover 6 miles but there are some hills adding up to about 850 feet of elevation gain. Spikes and possibly snowshoes will be required for the ascent to the 4190 foot summit of Slide Mountain.
