December 3, 2025 @ 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Join us on our December 3 Catskill social for a day of hiking to the summits of Rusk and Westkill Mountains. Starting from the same parking area, we’ll do two hikes for the price of one (hint: both are free). The total distance for both will be 10.5 miles with 3700 feet of total elevation gain. The days are short in December and we’ll need to keep moving; not a race, but at a moderate to brisk pace with relatively few breaks. Mid November to mid December is regular hunting season in the Catskills so wear your blaze orange or blaze pink colors. Anticipate that we will need spikes due to icy conditions and potentially even snowshoes. This hike is for strong hikers in good shape.
This hike is being presented in conjunction with the Adirondack Mountain Club and the Catskill 3500 Club. We strongly encourage you to consider joining these worthy organizations.
