The Catskill Social Series takes it up a notch with this challenging all-day winter hike including lots of steep ledges and multiple scrambles. At 4184 feet in elevation, Slide Mountain is the highest peak in the Catskills. Wittenberg and Cornell Mountains are a few hundred feet shorter, but famous for their tough scrambles as well as great views. This is a through-hike that will require car shuttle between the starting and ending points. The hike will cover 10 miles with 2700 feet of elevation gain. Crampons and snowshoes are required for this hike.
This hike is being presented in conjunction with the Adirondack Mountain Club and the Catskill 3500 Club. We strongly encourage you to consider joining these worthy organizations.
