Burn off some of those holiday calories before you consume them on this free guided hike. If you live on Long Island, or are just visiting for the holidays join us for this little tour encompassing north shore hills and Long Island Sound views. We’ll hike 6+ miles with around 1000 feet of elevation gain during the morning of December 23rd. The hike features some nice views, a few steep hills and a surprising feeling of remoteness along parts of the route. We may even spot a few [rein]deer resting up for their big day. Please carry traction devices in case we encounter remaining icy patches or if there is additional snowfall. This hike is a nice experience in a variety of weather conditions. We’ll still go in snow or light rain if travel conditions permit.
